Meeting my bro- Navigating through hyderabad

1. Hyderbad Deccan –  KACHEGUDA ( railway station name KCG)

and

2. Secunderabad

Now the question arose, how will I reach my brother’s place ? The place where is stays is nearly 28 kilometers from kacheguda and  29 kilometers from Secunderabad. In both cases, I would have to spend atleast 1 and 1/2 hour by cab and shell out anywhere between 1200 to 1500 Rupees. I had to look for an alternative

I was reminded that my cousin used local train to reach my brother’s place. So why don’t I use the same ? I found that there are local trains from both Kacheguda and Secunderabad which goes all the way to Lingampalli which is close to where my brother’s house is. The site http://www.mmtstraintimings.in gave me details about this.

Since Rajadhani express, the train that I am travelling stops only at Secunderabad, these are my options

47152, starts at 7:57 AM, reaches 8:42 AM

47154, starts at 8:25 AM and reaches at 9:15 AM

47211, starts at 9:02 AM and reaches at 9:50 AM

By googling, I got an idea about how the train looks like. They have blue white paint on it

1. Is local train railway station different from the main railway station ?

It took 30 mins from Ulsoor bus stop to Majestic by Autorickshaw( medium traffic) . 7 kms and 92 Rs

From 7:30 to 7:40, train was moving dead slow
Use the pedestrian over bridge and go to platform marked 6a/7a. Look for the board MATS ticket counter. Pay Rs 10 and take ticket to Lingampally. The train stops a little forward, so you have to walk a little backward. Secunderabad stop time is 5 minutes and in all other stations it’s 1 minute.
It was not too crowded but I didn’t get place to sit. Most of them are regular office goers or college students
2.2 km from railway station to Aparna flat. Auto driver said 100 and after bargain agreed for 70. Please tell him beforehand that you do not prefer sharing or else he will make others sit with you
On my way back, on Sunday, boarded meru cab @ 6:25 PM, crossed Microsoft Office at 6:40 PM at 8 km, very less traffic.

Travel completed in 1 hour 5 minutes, in 30 kilometers. Driver charged 699. The card meter did not work. Had to pay cash.

Note, there are 2 entrances for Kachiguda station. The main one has the enquiry counter
Compartment was little old. There was regular pantry with snacks, water and dinner. Train starts from Kachiguda itself @ 9:00 PM. Will reach Yashwantpur at 10:30 am. In second ac, you won’t have to pay for bedsheet. It came in a cover.
Train reached station at 10:45 am.
