Although I make a regular practice to check in at least 2 hours before the flight take off time, I was surprised to find that there were hardly any window seats available. This happened while I was travelling between Kochi and Bangalore, last Sunday ( 19 the Oct, 2014) I was a cent percent sure that there was no way people could have come before me and opted for the window seats. All but just two window seats were remaining and there was hardly anyone at the lounge, when I came.
I was pretty sure that I missed out on selecting the window seat during the booking itself. But when I logged into the travel site, in this case, both cleartrip and makemytrip.com, I could not find options to select the seats. This is when I realized I must create logins for the airline sites and login to those sites instead, while booking. I did so and voila ! I was presented with the options to select any seat I want in the flight. This option was clearly missing while I checked the travel sites.
Now the only problem is that, while planning for a journey you might have limited options since you would be presented with the flight details of only 1 airline. So what I decided was to use the travel site for normal booking and when I want to go for a particular seat, I could opt for the airline site. Cool huh ?
