Many of my male friends, believe that girls are not technical and by that, they mean, girls are simply incapable of going deep into something and knowing all the intricacies of that. I found it hard to agree with, simply because, back at my home mom used to fix taps, connect home theater system and use her laptop more efficiently and effectively, than most of my friends.
But the turning point came a few days back when I overheard a conversation between two people in the bus. A guy wanted to buy a refrigerator and a washing machine and was asking his friend about it. And his friend, who was a girl, sitting next to him was giving him suggestions. She went on to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of different options like auto defrost, Dry spin vs wet spin, Samsung vs LG ( with specifications ),Top load vs front load
Suddenly I realized that, just because your girl friend does not know about the latest version of Node.js or Warcraft may not mean she is totally brainless. She may be able to identify and tell you the difference between 5 different types of cooking salt ( brown, black, white, rock, and pink salt ) and 10 types of spinach, which I may be totally clueless.
In their game ( field of expertise ) they may be the best, and we could be totally unaware of that. We just need to keep our eyes open to see the beauty in people around us rather than stick to preconceived notions or stereotypes
