Last day with Parents | Summer 2015

By | April 4, 2015

Today was an exciting day and a lot of things happened.

For lunch, mom had prepared fish cutlet and it was so tasty and in the evening we decided to go out

1. Putthan palli church

With mom and dad, we went to the church and went to place where Valyapacchan was buried. I thought that when you are young, to see your parents you go to their house and spend time with them, share happy moments and have lunch with them together. But when you get older, to see your parents you have to go the symmetry, where everything looks dim, and the wind hitting your winds reminds you of the end of everything.

Dad recited a prayer from the prayer book and after that, I and mom stood there and prayed by ourselves. I imagined what it would be like to have him still with us and what he would be telling me. Someone had placed a good photo of Valyapachhan on the grave and the photo looked very lively. It was the first time I was visiting Valyapachhan’s grave, after his 10th day remembrance service.

After that, all of us went to the church and prayed for some time. Since tomorrow is Easter, there was no 5:30 mass in the church. I also got to see Jesus kept in a coffin and many people touched HIS body and were praying. I was wondering if the people were partaking in his suffering or were reciting the list of problems that they had, which they wanted Jesus to resolve

I am happy that the two things that I was reminded during my mediation, came true. Namely requiem for Louis appapan and ammama and prayers at Valyapachhan’s grave. The requiem mass was attended by George pepan, Mary mema, Jose pepan me and dad. It was held on 30 Mar, 2015 @ 7:00 AM at the Kuttur Church

2. At Paul’s house

In my recent past, I have never seen anyone so interested to see me. From the second he saw me, Paul was all smiles and badly wanted to talk to me and spend time with me. Mom clicked a photo of me with Paul and Tessa and after a brief conversation with everyone, we headed to his room. He played a few songs and all of them very simply impressive. I simply could not believe the speed, easiness and the way he played some of the most difficult pieces in the western classical music. He really did take my breath away.

After that he taught me finger placement and also corrected a lot of things, I was doing wrong. Especially in terms of bending my finger while I was pressing the keys, unwanted tension in my shoulders, the way my left palm was bent towards the left and also I did not keep my fingers in the ‘cup’/ ball grabbing the position.

We even talked about rhythm and he played the Titanic song. I must say, he has some really good ear listening skills, but definitely requires polishing. He warned against sitting on a chair while practicing and also suggested that I get a stool to help me with the playing.

The 1 hour that was allocated to us was not definitely sufficient and I hope to meet him soon again.

3. Meeting Rajendran uncle.

Rajendran uncle’s mom is in Daya hospital now in ICU. So went to see him today and discussed a lot of things. I and uncle had a discussion nearly 12 years back about taking a crucial decision in my life and I wanted to know if he thought that he was able to convince me. He gave me a very satisfying answer and that closes one of the chapter’s in my life for which I had this question, ringing in my mind.
