Photo walk with Anand and Suhas

By | October 13, 2014

An amazing photo walk with Suhas and Anand. Although we had not planned, found that there was a flower show based on the hampi theme going on. Loved it.

Learned a lot about photography and the great power of 18 – 55, especially as a great travel lens. Abitlity to go from wide angle to close up macro shots. All the flowers in today’s shoot was done with 18 – 55. Anand showed the real importance of white balance and adjust the light using the Manual mode. He found that my camera even when it shows the thing at the center in the view finder, it is overexposed.

I also found that for D7000 when you digital zoom in the LCD screen, you can see clearly, and colours are vibrant

Suhas taught me the importance of shooting with the correct background

Anand told me the importance of post processing and how through post processing you can remove grains.

Found about the Neelima, how she travels alone and gets sponspored by people to travel around India and take photos. Anand also told about the co founders of lens renting shop in bangalor and how he took the pic of polar bear in Artic. Talking to Anand, I got to learn a lot of things

What am I doing right now ?

  1. Sausages and rice is on the stove
  2. Just finished call with Melvin. We discussed about
    1. Buying the piano PSR 243 – Yamaha portable keyboard and why I should not go for it, since it is not touch sensitive
    2. Option of including the Casio in the search list
    3. Melvin’s travel plan to Bangalore
    4. About the site alamy.com. Where people could buy and sell photos. I thought I could look at the photos that were being sold at a premium and try to learn and take photographs like that

In other news, I was exploring about the looping station and found several videos of people making effective use of that, especially the BOSS Loop Station. Posting a video below of BOSS Loop Station Championship 5 Winner
