Our house did not have a cable connection but want to see movie channels
Brother figures out that, if the reception of the TV antenna is increased we might be able to get the cable tv channels*. He tries to get a hold on all the metal items in the house, including hangers, clips etc He was never afraid of experimenting and we decide to give a try.
The antenna was at the terrace and tv was in the hall in the ground floor. Firstly, we went and hung all the hangers and clips on to the antenna in a special formation. I was asked to go and stand in the hall, in front of the tv, informing my brother about the reception.
Believe it or not, the we got some grainy pictures and I jumped out of excitement. Brother was still in the terrace adjusting the antenna. Guess what, after a few tries we were getting clear picture and sound ! We were watching paid cable tv without paying anything

Me and my bro wanted to watch cable tv and we told dad about that. He outrightly disagreed and said there was no need to do that. And that prompted us to try out this ‘experiment’. The cable operator inevitably came to know about this free service and decided to decrease the power of his booster( the device that relays the signals, works more like a router) thereby reducing the picture quality of nearby houses who paid. This caused a lot of problems and finally the he requested our dad to take up cable connection and he agreed and we got cable connection.
- Cable tv was used as where the operator used to relay channels got from a big dish antenna and send through cable from the operator to each house.
