Initially, all my posts would go to a single blog hosted on google ( justinlinux.blogspot.com ) Then I moved to WordPress, with my site hosted on my own server ( justin-joseph.com ) Eventually, as my knowledge expanded I looked for ways to add content to my site, other than my blog. You can see some rudimentary trials on the justin-joseph.com site.
But as I started adding more and more content, I started creating more and more static HTML pages and more and more WordPress blogs. Finally, during one of my stays at Trichur, I decided to put everything on wiki. That’s how Dokuwiki came into the picture. In between, I tried grav, Publii ( really great static HTML content publishing system ) as well as pmwiki ( you have to learn syntax again).
But I found dokuwiki effective – a lot of plugins, static markdown files, version control as well as full-screen view ( my most important criteria ) But as I started adding more and more content, it began to look plainer. So I started more plugins, like WRAP ( to add colored boxes ), ckgedit ( to add more font options ) ‘Plain text‘ plugin ( anything between<text> and <TEXT>prints text as it is ) as so on. Eventually, ckgedit messed up the tags added by ‘wrap’ plugin and I decided, enough is enough.
Today I installed mediawiki. Here begins my new journey
