Valyamachi passed away yesterday( Sep 28, 2018) at 11:10 AM at James Uncle’s home. As soon as he got the news, dad reached there and with the help of Linto, took care of most of the stuff there. John chettan along with Joe kuttan also pitched in to buy all the necessary things for the funeral. Mom was informed about this late in the evening, around 5:00 PM, since she is undergoing Ayurvedic treatment.
Valyamachi was one of the few people, who used to have a smile reserved for me and accurately describe how I used to appear, every single time I met her – viz a viz, whether I put on weight, whether I reduced if I colored the hair and so on. I was impressed with the way, she could notice these minute things about me – which no one else could and tell me about it. The last time I met her, was in Julie Aunty’s home and she immediately recognized me, but could not say anything more. Before that, when I had met, at Maggi Aunty’s houme, she spoke about Valyapacchan and told me so many things about him. I felt so much love from her. Brother was also with us, during that time.
I have stayed with them for a few days, when I was in X th standard, and it was a nice experience. She was the last grandparent to say goodbye. She was laid rest, today morning ( Sep 29, 2018), in the same tomb as that of Valyapachhan at the Putthan Palli Church – the church both of them ( Valyapachan and Valyamachi ) used to go till the end of their days.
