What does this song say ? What is it, trying to convey ?
Before that, a quick introduction : Santhosh Pandit decided to do a movie on a budget of meagre 5 lakh rupees ( 8500 dollars) and decided to take help from people for that. But no one was willing to work with him for such amount. With no help or feedback from the industry, he decided to take the entire film making into his hands, including production, direction, script, acting, editing, camera, song writing and even make up.
Now back to the story,
Just like all of you, with a little background knowledge in music, I can confirm that lot of things are not being followed in this song(hear it for yourself). Many notes/ chords in the song are out of sync with the lyrics and do not give any feel whatsoever.
Camera positions and angles are being misused a lot and facial expression and acting could not be matched with what we see in commercial movies.
But then why am I posting it here ?
I just have one answer – Sometimes you need to do, what you feel is right and not give a lot of importance to what others say. Yes, you have to learn from your mistakes and hear from others. But sometimes, YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW YOUR HEART. Since most people don’t realize that creative works should not be judged as it is but rather by looking at the purpose it wants to serve, you need to be extra careful while receiving feedback from people.
I have had this experience when after a lot of research I buy a book and show to people and they literally look at the cover, flip through the pages and IMMEDIATELY come to a conclusion as to what the book is about !! I must admit either they are extremely naive in their judgements or have some extra sensory perceptions that help them with their conclusions.
It’s very easy to throw the water out of the window, often with the baby in it. Creative works needs to be encouraged, in whatever form it may be. Give everyone a chance to prove themselves. I am seeing lot of positive thinking in the way people embrace new creative works, especially through youtube and that is very promising.
When we give credit to others for what they deserve and give constructive feedback and not get lost in destructive criticism and personal attacks, we will learn to spread more love, understand ourselves better and make this world a better place, for everyone, including you.
