Character animation software

I have lot of ideas that I want to convey to the world in a very easy way, visually. That means I do not want to work on character sketch, perfecting the hair strands for weeks together. I am more concerned about the content, the story line and the message that I intend to convey in a visual manner.

I bought a digital pen and notepad, sometime back and had started experimenting with it. Now was the time to start using it. The search resulted in me short listing the following software. I was okay, with the platform, that is, either Windows or Mac was fine with me.

Following were the shortlisted ones

  1. Crazy talk animator 2
  2. iClone
  3. Toon Boom Harmony : Seems to be the industry standard
  4. Motion Artist
  5. Anime Studio

After lot of research and watching tutorial videos on youtube, I have decided to go for Crazy talk animator 2, because that seems to perfectly match my requirements.

The journey was very interesting, because I got to learn some amazing cool stuff about animation and also came across this beautiful animation video, which I will never forget in my life. This video taught me that, even with a simple character like a stick figure, you can tell stories that touch your heart.

I will be installing Crazy talk Animator 2, soon in my system and would start with some basic animation, the first time in my life and would love to share the results with you. Feeling very excited about it.
