NOTE:
‘Eh’ – (c) 2015 India, All rights reserved
the word ‘eh’ is an invention from our country. The word magically converts any statement to a question. So if you want to find out whether someone completed a task, don’t bother to put it in a sentence like this:
‘Have you completed the task’ ?Instead, just ask:
‘Done-eh’ ?
I talked to my friend Giri about this and he told me that since people are not aware of anything else to greet others with, they stick to these basic questions. I realized that he was right and decided to join the bandwagon and I have come up with my own set of questions. And here they are.
Scenario :Person filling the cup at a water cooler
Question : Drinking water eh ?
Scenario :To someone incessantly pressing the ‘close’ button in the lift
Question :Having seizures/ epilepsy huh ? Here, hold this key chain, its metal
Scenario :Someone constantly complaining about life, and how bad things are
Question :(Pointing gun at him) Wanna die huh ?
Scenario :Someone constantly looking at his cellphone, every other second
Question :(Taking his/her cell phone and throwing it away) Feeling better eh ?
Scenario :To the cricketer fumbling with his handkerchief
Question : Spot fixing eh ?
