Yesterday we had our second band meet of the band I am part of, at Poornima’s house. Our meet was held at the top floor of her house. The house was very beautiful, next to Bangalore Central Mall and the place where we practiced was very spacious. Was amazed by Karthik’s ( the other Karthik)amazing guitar play and Pranava’s singing. We had a mixture of tamil, english and hindi songs for our jamming session.
Initially I felt I was not fitting in because I was not aware of most of the latest tamil songs they were singing and moreover they had very common chords and same rhythym. But towards the end, I got a chance to jam with Samuel and we sang some Christian worship songs and also English songs with Karthik S. It was a wonderful experience and gave me lot of inspiration to concentrate on my music skills. One thing I noticed was that, for the songs which they were familiar with, they were able to come up with chords on the fly. This is something that I need to work on.
Today morning I even took time to do some practice exercise on the piano ( based on what Paul taught me when I went to Trichur last week ) and also on the guitar. Yesterday Sooraj had requested me to play Airtel tune and today I was able to play that on the piano. I felt very happy doing that.
Looking forward for our next meet probably after my MBA exams which are coming up at the end of this month
