It was at Narmadha’s system that I saw about the Cognizant outreach program. I checked with her and she told me that its an initiative by Cognizant to visit schools for differently abled institutions and support them with the help of volunteers from CTS. I was amazed by the fact that this initiative has been happening on a daily basis and I did not know about it. Even my friends were not aware of that.
With the help of Narmadha, I immediately joined the program and today I went to the school where there were lot of kids who were differently abled. It was such an amazing experience in my life and fell in love with the whole experience. We had a team of 6 people including me and they were Harish, Ramya, Selva, Narmadha and Chaya. We all interacted a lot and learned a lot from each other. At the school I met the chief coordinator Soorya. All the teachers really understood the needs of the children and helped them with whatever they needed.
From the school, we all went to the nearby post office and made the kids post letters to their parents. Everyone in the post office was very cooperative and made sure that everyone was very comfortable. They even handed out chocolates for the kids.
I spend atleast 2 hours with the kids and it gave me a new purpose in my life, a new meaning, a new wave of hope. I knew HE was there, answering my prayers and I did not have to worry that I had to walk this path alone. What else do I need, more than HIS grace ?
Today I intend to go for spoken English classes which are being conducted for kids of less privileged staff in CTS.
