No, my greatest birthday was not a costly watch, or the latest Iphone 6 or computer/ music gear. It was more valuable and perpetual than any of those. It was a message that my friend, gave on my birthday
Controlling thoughts is not in your hands
Realize that, you are not in control of your thoughts, they just keep coming in ( unless of course you are a zen monk, who could control every single thought ) The point is, you don’t have to identify yourself with the thoughts. You do not have to be defined by your thoughts.
And the most important thing is, those thought don’t have to become actions.
Action is in your hands
Choosing to do or not do something is IN YOUR HANDS. Think about your parents, your moral compass and that will give you control over your actions. Or else, you will be like a plastic bag drifting in the wind. Take control over your life and thereby your emotions. Be a new being, no more enslaved by carnal desires.
You may be wondering what you achieve by denying yourself a little happiness, by doing those actions. But think about this, you are loosing yourself. Why would you want to do a thing like that, which amounts to nothing but suicide ? Don’t fall victim for your insatiable desires. There might be alternatives.
I am reminded of this verse from the Bible as well , (Psalm 91 (New International Version), verses 5 to 8 )
5 You will not fear the terror of night,nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,nor the plague that destroys at midday.7 A thousand may fall at your side,ten thousand at your right hand,but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked
